I was thinking, “If I looked through my gallery, could I pick out one pic I’ve done that incorporates everything about me as an artist?”
I wanted to post this and see what other people have to say about themselves. Can you find something in your gallery that you think really defines you? You can reblog and post a link if you like.
For me, the one that I think currently represents me the best is this one. I’ve com to realize that I don’t like drawing big action poses, or crazy angles. I’ve read too many comics, and I think drawing someone hulking out or jumping through the air is ridiculous when there’s no context. It works in comics, not individual paintings. I like relaxed, natural stuff. Sure, it’s a minotaur and an elf, but they’re just doing normal stuff. I think I like the contrast between the abnormal subject and the normal setting. Also, this picture has the best light to dark contrast I’ve ever done.
I was also thinking of where I’m going (as an artist), and this one came to mind. I really really really liked the style of this one, and I’ve been trying to do another one like it ever since. A few weeks back I think I mentioned that this style is where I would like to go as WhistleFrog, and that still holds true, but for some reason I just can’t stick to one style/method.
I don’t usually like to bring up “artsy” thoughts, but I spend a lot of time in my own head, and sometimes stuff spills out.
Anyway, I’d like to see what other artists have to say about their own work, so feel free to send me a link or reblog.
Hey, I’m thinking about doing adoptables, so I wanted to ask if anyone would be interested in that, but more importantly, I’d like to ask other artists about their experience making adoptables. Is it worth it?
